Fish Pedicure



Fish spa is a type of spa treatment where by a primary fish named Garra Rufa is used.  The function of Garra Rufa fish is to nibble at the dead skin to leave feet feeling soft and smooth.

Also known as Doctor Fish or Kangal Fish - named after the town in Turkey where the fish are found in abundance.  These Garra Rufa fish have become very popular in the development of spa techniques across the world.

Garra Rufa fish are naturally found in the hot spring pools in Turkey, the Doctor fish, as they are commonly known have a natural phenomenon which have for hundreds of years been used for the treatment of a number of ailments.

Dating as far back as the early nineteenth century, spa fish have been used to treat all manner of skin conditions including psoriasis and eczema. Other ailments such as muscle and joint conditions have also been treated using Garra Rufa Fish.

DIY Brown Sugur Foot Scrub

Brown sugar foot scrub

Ingredients
---------------
* 2 tablespoons brown sugar
* 2 tablespoons ground oats
* 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
* 1 tablespoon honey
* 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
* 1 teaspoon almond oil (olive oil can be used instead).

Instruction
--------------
* Grind oatmeal in food processor to form a sandy flaky
  consistency.
* Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl until you get 
  a paste. 


How to Apply
-----------------
Apply the mixture using circular motions. Rinse off with warm water.

Ingredient

Makes 2 treatments

* 4 Tbsp. Aloe Vera gel
* 4 tsp. grated beeswax
* 2 tsp. honey
* 2 tsp. fresh mint, optional
* 6 drops peppermint essential oil
* 2 drops arnica oil
* 2 drops camphor oil
* 2 drops eucalyptus oil

Instruction
--------------
* Grind mint using grinder or by hand using mortar & pestle. 

* Melt beeswax by using double boiler method. 
* Mix aloe vera and honey in glass bowl and stir in beeswax. 
* Let cool.  Add mint and oils stirring until completely mixed. 


How to Apply
------------------
Apply after bath or shower to entire feet and toes. Store remaining feet treat in covered in cool place away from sun or heat.

Ingrown Toenails

Ingrown toenails are toenails curving over and digging into the skin of your toe. Ingrown toenails are painful and they can be tricky to treat because they can easily become infected and are often a recurring problem.

You need to visit a podiatrist if the ingrown toenail has become infected.  It is just a small surgical procedure to permanently remove the ingrown corner of the nail.  However, do not attempt to treat it yourself.  People with diabetes should carefully examine their feet regularly.
Prevention is always the best method for controlling the pain of ingrown toenails.  Few of the easiest methods are to avoid wearing footwear that squeezed the toes, always cut your toenails in a straight line across and not too short
If the ingrown toenail is not infected, you can try some at-home remedies to keep the pain at bayHere are some ideas:
1.    Try a foot soak.  Allow your sore toe to soak in a warm salt water bath for 15 minutes a couple of times every day. This soak can help relieve pain and swelling in an ingrown toenail. Dry  your foot completely after each soak. 
2.    Keep your foot dry except when soaking. 
3.    Take an over-the-counter pain-relieving medicationlike acetaminophen or ibuprofen. 
4.    Gently pull the skin away from the nail using a small nail file or other blunt device that won't cut or hurt the toe. 
5.    Stuff tiny pieces of clean cotton.  Soak the cotton with antiseptic cleanser and stuff between the ingrown toenail and the skin.  It can help to separate them and provide a little cushioning to the skin.
6.    Rub your toe with antibiotic ointment to help reduce your chance of developing an infection. 
7.    Cover the sore toe with a Band-Aid or other bandage to offer a little extra padding and protection. 
8.    Choose shoes that are easy on your toesAvoid shoes that pinch the toes or place pressure on the ingrown toenail.  Shoes with soft material and a wide toe are a good choice, try wearing sandals if you can.
9.    Inspect your toe carefully for signs of infection. Check every day for signs and symptoms like redness, increased pain, swelling, and drainage of pus. 
10.    See a podiatrist if you see signs of infection, or if your ingrown toenail keeps coming back.

* 1½ cups Sea Salt
* ¼ cup Sweet Almond Oil
* 2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
* 3 drops Lavender Essential Oil



Instruction
-------------
* In a bowl, combine together sea salt and almond oil.
* The mixture should hold well. 
If it seems dry, 
   add almond oil until you get the desired consistency.
* Add peppermint oil and lavender oil. Mix well.
* Your peppermint foot scrub is ready to be used.

* ½ cup sea salt
* 3 slices of lime
* 5 to 10 mint leaves
* 5 drops of essential lime oil
* Combine all these and add to a basin filled with warm water

Benefit of Lime - After a long day on your feet, soak your feet in very warm water containing lime/lemon juice to enjoy the cooling, astringent feeling. This will also help promote deep sleep due to the relaxing action on the foot nerves.

For maximum benefits, take a foot detox bath every night for a week, then twice a week for 30 days. After 30 days, once a week is recommended for maintenance.

* 1 cup of sea salt
* 1 cup of epsom salt
* 2 cups of baking soda

Instruction
---------------
Mix all the ingredients together and store this mixture in an airtight container.

How to use it
------------------
Fill a foot basin with warm water. Add 1/4 cup of the detox mixture. Find a relaxing place to sit and soak your feet for 30 minutes. As soon as the feet are removed from the bath, brush the feet with a dry tower and rinse with warm water.

To soften the feet, if needed

If you feel the need to soften your feet, rub with 100% aloe vera. This is also a good time to do a relaxing foot massage.

Caution

Do not use lotions with additives as your feet quickly absorb what is on them.

* 3 limes
* 2 tablespoons of white sugar
* 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil
* 15 fresh mint leaves (chopped)
* 5 drops of lime essential oil

Instruction
-------------
Cut the limes into small pieces and pulse these pieces into a thick pulp in a food processor. Mix this lime and the remaining ingredients in a small bowl.

Lavender and Rose Foot Scrub with Coconut Oil

 Ingredients
  • 1 cup coarse salt or sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil (heat to a liquid consistency)
  • 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 10 drops Rose Absolute Oil

Optional
  • 2–3 teaspoons Vitamin E Oil, Honey or agave nectar for a nice consistency

  • Combine all of the ingredients into a glass jar.  If the mix is too
